Group Facilitator

While group facilitation has been part of my core training in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and in Cross-Professional Supervision, I have also undertaken a range of post-graduate training courses in running and facilitating groups.

Throughout my entire professional life, I have been a Group Facilitator to many different types of groups.  These have included community based teams, personal development groups, spiritual retreat groups, psychotherapy groups, personal development workshops, integrated learning groups, team-building groups, peer supervision groups, and the management of organisational groups.

My current Group Facilitation approach draws upon my training and experiences in this work to date, and is guided by the particular requirements of each group that I work with.  This can range from psycho-educational training, to team development workshops, to therapeutic interpersonal process, to spiritual encounter.

Group work can become a place where we get to know ourselves through the eyes, minds, and hearts of others we share the group with.

Creating and holding the safety and containment of each group allows participants to have corrective emotional and learning experiences.

Aligning with the objective task of any group also creates enough structure and stability to allow for the possibility of deeper, often unconscious dynamics of each particular group to emerge.

Such a group has the potential to evoke in participants a profound experience of shared connection through the interweaving of personal healing, growth, and learning.
